02 — COMMISSION
How we are paid
Trail commission
LFS earns trail commission from AMCs, paid out of the scheme's Total Expense Ratio (TER). Clients invest in regular plans — this is how all distributor-assisted mutual fund investments work in India.
Commission structure
Trail commission rates differ by AMC and by scheme category, and AMCs revise them from time to time. The commission LFS earns on the specific schemes being considered — including competing schemes from different fund houses — is disclosed to you before you invest, and the current schedule is available on request at any time.
Other product fees
For PMS, AIF, unlisted-share and fixed-income distribution, LFS earns a distribution fee or margin from the product provider or the empanelled partner, disclosed before you transact. For loans against mutual funds or securities, LFS earns a referral fee from the lender. You never pay LFS directly, and LFS charges no advisory fees.
Our independence
Ladder Financial Services LLP never ranks or recommends schemes based on the commission they pay. Our process is goal-first — commission rates are a disclosed fact, not a selection criterion.
Regular vs direct plans
Regular plans carry a distributor commission embedded in the TER; direct plans have a lower TER but no distributor support. Neither is universally better — the right choice depends on the value the distributor provides. How we work and what that involves →

AMFI investor charter
The AMFI Investor Charter defines your rights when dealing with an AMFI-registered Mutual Fund Distributor. It outlines what you can expect from us — and what you can do if those standards aren't met.

05 — KYC
KYC and Know Your Distributor
KYC through SEBI-registered KRAs (KYC Registration Agencies) is mandatory for all investors in India before any mutual fund transaction. Without valid, verified KYC, no investment can be processed.
Ladder Financial Services LLP is KYD-compliant — meeting AMFI's Know Your Distributor requirements and code of conduct. Valid PAN and KYC are required for all investors. LFS assists clients with KYC verification and updates through the KRA process.
06 — RISK
Risk disclosures
Mutual funds
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks, read all scheme related documents carefully. Past performance may or may not be sustained in future.
Portfolio Management Services (PMS)
SEBI minimum investment is ₹50 lakh; a portfolio manager may accept less only from SEBI-accredited investors. LFS acts as distributor, not portfolio manager. Past performance is not indicative of future results. No performance figures are published here — full track records are shared one-to-one in the SEBI-prescribed standardised format.
Alternative Investment Funds (AIF)
SEBI minimum investment is ₹1 crore; SEBI-accredited investors are exempt from that floor, and funds that accept them typically set tickets from around ₹25 lakh. LFS acts as distributor, not fund manager. Private placement only — no public solicitation. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Information is available on request to eligible investors after a suitability assessment. Note that Category III AIFs are taxed at fund level without pass-through.
Fixed income / NCDs / corporate FDs
These instruments carry issuer credit risk and are not bank deposits. They are not covered by DICGC (Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation) insurance. A credit rating is the rating agency's opinion, not a guarantee of repayment, and can be downgraded. Credit ratings are attributed to the relevant agency whenever applicable.
Unlisted & pre-IPO shares
Unlisted shares are not exchange-traded or SEBI-regulated products. They carry liquidity risk (there may be no buyer when you want to sell), valuation risk (prices are negotiated, not discovered), and the risk that a listing never happens. Shares held before an IPO are generally locked in for six months after listing.
Loans against mutual funds / securities
Loans are provided solely by RBI-registered NBFC lenders, at their discretion. LFS is a referral partner only — not a lender — and is not party to the loan agreement. A fall in the value of pledged holdings can lead to a margin call and, if unmet, to their sale by the lender.
Distribution through partners
Mutual funds are distributed under ARN-353621. All other products are distributed or referred through empanelled partners. LFS is a distributor, not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, and charges no advisory fees.
